Worship With Us

Each congregation of the Lord’s church recognizes special ministries that require leadership from within the membership. Since the role of elders is to shepherd the flock, they need to remain free of responsibilities that do not relate directly to “spiritual” matters (like assigning duties in worship services, building and grounds, education programs, among others). The book of Acts tells us that the early church appointed seven who were “known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom” (Acts 6: 1-4). Here at Hueytown church of Christ, several men have been identified for their servitude and have been currently asked to serve the congregation. The scriptures are clear on establishing the qualifications for deacons. Among them is that “They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience” (I Tim. 3: 9). The men currently serving have been recognized by the elders and found worthy by the congregation at large.

We are blessed to have several appointed deacons in our church family: Robin Dyle, David Seals, Jerry Johnson, Keith Parks, Greg Hamrick, Keith Taylor, and Lee Weaver.
